TAKEN…when everything started I couldn’t expect all of this but subconsciously I probably knew it. And I’m pleased. Blessed. Stoned and blessed. Music comes itself like a winkle in the sky, you just have to be sensible and fast enough to catch the moment, focus on that and fix it. That’s probably why I don’t like to talk a lot and I’m mostly concentrated on listening. I could be able to catch a sound far from kilometers. I could stay alone for days without the need of saying or doing nothing then listening to the empty spaces. The sounds are fascinating. Empty spaces are stunning.

BEATBOXING is hard. I have to admit that it’s probably the most difficult way to compose music… You have to find a sound where, actually, the sound doesn’t exist. It takes a lot of time till you get the knowledge… I used and I use to practice a lot… also when I keep shut  my mind is elaborating sounds and breathing techniques…or focusing on an instrument, or a “solo” I heard maybe days before in some jazz track. I think this is a good method. I’m a meticulous in most of the things I do, and harsh with myself. Eleven years on stage and I remember one only show I did that made me say “this time I’ve been near to the perfection”. It was some weeks ago, the best 2 days in my life… there was something around there… or probably somebody who gave me the peace of mind that I would love to have for ever.

TAKEN is a concept, an abduction, a dedication, an experience, a sound inspection. Is where I’m putting together all of my feelings into single tracks that will compose a story, the soundtrack of my story, original compositions. Every single track is a chapter, every title is dedicated to a moment of this story.

SLOW eMOTIONS – SOUL MAGNETS – WIN KEY – TAKEN BY YOU – THE 4TH KIND – BOUNCING IN THE LANDSCAPE  - NOCTURNE IN  ”D” MINOR: WINKLES IN THE DARK – TAKE THE GREY BRAIN – STARS SHIELD…… Those are just some of the tracks I’m working on. I still have to decide how the story will finish. The last and conclusive chapter will depend by facts. I’m almost sure that it depends by that peace of mind I was talking about. I’ll find a way. I can’t Wait for this!

Today I opened a new section. Under the LIVE MENU you can still find the “next gigs” and “archive” of my shows, and now the new LIVE STREAMING area. Yesterday I subscribed on USTREAM.TV and, thanks to the Ustream App on my phone and the player on my page, I’ll be able soon to go on air directly from onstage, straight to your computers! Ok, welcome to the future… but it was 1980, one year before I was born. I got this video from a friend, ArmaDragon, a saxophone player I love to do music with. Well, as everybody probably knows Dizzy was one of the best jazz musician ever, famous for his trumpet skills, composing and singing. But what I saw in this video is over. Let’s go to the point: in the middle of the scat jam with Jon Hendricks he comes out with this instrument (Sicilian typically instrument called “maranzano” or “scacciapensieri) and starts doing a lot of breathing and sound techniques that beatboxers commonly use (or better should) today…. but it was 1980…. and he also looks like he was confident with it, so, this probably comes from years spent studying trumpet. I gotta speak with a trumpet player about trumpet’s techniques. Now.

…Some days ago I found this documentary (Soul of the funky drummers) on youtube while looking for a live performance video of the famous JB’s Funky Drummer breakdown. A must-see for all musicians and in particular  for all the beatboxers. This is the way I learnt since “day one”. And in my opinion the way it should be learnt. Starting from the elements and basics of drumming, going throught to the essence of the musician itself, to finally get the knowledge. The documentary is splitted in 6 parts, check them all!!
